PAGASA Unified Meteorological Information System
Observation data of PAGASA are very rich and are coming from various observation networks.

Before the observed data are presented to the end user, they are processed by a wide variety of decoding modules and afterwards by quality control module. The CLDB provides storage of the observed data together with its meta-data information structures. It also allows storing various meta-data inside the database according to WMO requirements and recommendations

Modules

The CLDB offers wide variety of output modules used for presentation of stored data by end users such as Statistical Summaries Module, Manual Data Entry Module, Map Analysis Module, Manual Data Entry for Extreme Weather Data and Warning Management Module.

Challenge

  • Implementation of unified meteorological information system which would integrate PAGASA´s current observing facilities into one centralized database to have a single point of access and archives of all meteorological data
